 Wednesday, August 20, 2008 Whrrl Hires Advertising VPWhrrl, a social media application that allows users to track and keep in contact with friends from their mobile phones, reported Wednesday that it has hired John Kim as vice president of advertising products. Whrrl, a property of Seattle-based Pelago Inc., said Kim will work with retailers, local advertisers and other business partners to develop an effective monetization strategy. The company described Kim as a 15-year marketing veteran who most recently was vice president of product management and marketing for Media. Prior to that, Whrrl said, Kim was senior director of strategic and product marketing at Yahoo! and director of marketing for Overture Services. posted on Wednesday, August 20, 2008
