Whrrl Inks Deal With USA WEEKEND

Seattle-based Pelago, maker of the Whrrl mobile social networking and check-in software, said today that it is in a partnership with Gannett's USA WEEKEND. Pelago said today that it is launching an in-store, mobile shopper marketing program along with USA WEEKEND, the weekend newspaper insert seen in many local newspapers. Pelago said the deal will allow shoppers to see brand messages, share product recommendations, and get more content from USA WEEKEND--not to mention earn rewards and prizes for checking into stores while shopping. Financial details of the win were not disclosed. Pelago explained that the first promotion through the partnership is with restaurant chain Marie Callendars, with another promotion with Kellogg's is in the queue.
