    Widevine Gets Win With CinemaNow


    Seattle-based WideVine has scored a win with video-on-demand service CinemaNow, the firm said Monday. Widevine said it would provide its DRM and digital copy protection solutions to CinemaNow, which is based in California, for CinemaNow's digital entertainment service. CinemaNow offers Hollywood movies, TV shows and music videos for rental via the Internet. The Widevine software will be used for consumer electronics devices and PC access. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Widevine is venture backed by Cisco Systems, Charter Ventures, Constellation Ventures, Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd., PaceSetter Capital Group, Phoenix Partners, TELUS and VantagePoint Venture Partners.
