![]() Thursday, April 12, 2007 Widevine Gets Win With On2Seattle-based Widevine has signed on ON2 Technologies, a provider of video compression software, as a customer, the firm announced today. On2 will use Widevine's digital watermarking and copy protection technology in On2's Flash video player. On2's VP6 for Flash player is used by ABC, CBS, ESPN, Fox, and other online Internet video sites. According to the firms, On2 will also resell Widevine's DRM products to its customers. Widevine is funded by Bear Stearns Constellation Ventures, Cisco Systems, Charter Ventures, Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd, Macrovision, PaceSetter Capital Group, Phoenix Partners, TELUS and VantagePoint Venture Partners. posted on Thursday, April 12, 2007
