Seattle-based Widevine said Wednesday that the firm is collaborating with Rovi, a developer of media guides for consumer electronic devices. Widevine said the deal will allow Rovi's TotalGuide software to include adaptive streaming, interactive DVD/Blu-ray features, and DRM support in CE devices. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed, however, Widevine said the agreement allows Rovi to resell its technology.
