Widevine Powers NetFlix, DISH Network
Seattle-based Widevine, a developer of digital rights management (DRM) software and technology, revealed today that its biggest customer to date is Netflix, and also announced a win with DISH Network. According to Widevine, in an interview with NewTeeVee, Netflix is its biggest customer so far, and is using its DRM for distribution across consumer electronics devices. Size of that business was not given. The firm also said today that it has been selected by DISH Network L.L.C, to provide adaptive streaming, virtual DVD, and digital rights management to that firm's pay-TV service.
