Seattle-based Widevine, a developer of digital rights management (DRM) software, reported this morning that it has been selected by EchoStar Technologies and subsidiary Sling Media to power the SlingLoaded devices. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Widevine said its DRM products will be used to add security to the consumer devices, when subscribers are watching or controlling their TV programming from the set-top box.
