Widevine Wins Set Top Box Firm
Seattle-based Widevine, a developer of digital rights management (DRM) technology, reported today that its products have been selected by Metrological Media Innovations, for a set-top box. Widevine said its products will be integrated with Metrological's Metroconnect operating system, used for delivering IPTV and Internet TV via a set-top box. Financial details of the win were not disclosed. Metrological is based in the Netherlands. Widvine is backed by Cisco, Charter Ventures, Constellation Ventures, Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd, Liberty Global, PaceSetter Capital Group, Phoenix Partners, Samsung Ventures America, TELUS, and VantagePoint Venture Partners.
