XPLANE Acquired by Dachis Group

Portland, Oregon-based XPLANE, a provider of design consulting services to major corporations, has been acquired by Texas firm Dachis Group. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. XPLANE, which serves such firms as Microsoft, Intel, ITT, Hewlett Packard, BP, SunGard and Nokia, was founded in 1993 by Dave Gray. Dachis Group is venture backed by more than $50m from Austin Ventures. Dachis Group said that Aric Wood will remain as CEO of XPLANE, with Dachis Grou's Jeffrey Dachis--former CEO of Razorfish--will become Chairman of XPLANE. Dave Gray becomes Founder and Consulting Leader at XPLANE.
