    Zend, Microsoft Collaborate On PHP

Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft is collaborating with Zend Technologies, developer of the PHP scripting language, to improve the platform running on Microsoft Windows Server. Microsoft and Zend said that the two are working together on Windows Server 2003, and expect to extend the collaboration to Longhorn. The deal calls for Microsoft to deliver an Internet Information Services (IIS) add-on to provide an interface between PHP and IIS; for Zend to establish a Windows testing lab; and for the two to work to ensure production-quality PHP runtime environments, as well as for Microsoft to contribute back to the PHP community.
