Seattle-based ZymoGenetics, a developer of pharmaceutical products, reported in a filing yesterday that it has laid off 52 employees, or approximately 15% of its staff, as a part of an effort to "further align" the firm with opportunities. The layoff follows a cut of 161 employees by the company in April. The firm said it hopes to save approximately $8M to $10M in the latest layoff.
