Amazon Adds Same Day Delivery

Seattle-based Amazon.com has launched a new effort to get products to customers more quickly, with a new same day delivery service in Seattle and six other major cities. According to Amazon, the new same day delivery option--Local Express Delivery--will be available in New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Las Vegas, and Seattle. The cost will start at $5.99 per item for Amazon Prime members, and allow customers to order products as late as 1 p.m. if they are in Seattle, and between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the other cities. In conjunction with the new same day delivery, the firm also made adjustments to support Saturday delivery.
