Amazon EC2 Back Online

After several days of downtime, it looks like Amazon's EC2 cloud computing service is finally back to normal, at least according to Amazon. Amazon said at 7:35PM Sunday evening that its service is now operating normally. The firm said it was now working on a "limited number of customers" with issues, after the "vast majority" of volumes were recovered for its customers. The downtime was the biggest downtime event so far for Amazon, which offers up its cloud computing services to others for running web sites and web services. The issues at Amazon EC2 had taken down hundreds of sites, which rely on Amazon for offloading processing on their services. The issues at EC2 had taken down such high visibility sites as Foursquare, Reddit, Quora, and others.
