AppFog Adds Developer Plan

AppFog, the provider of a cloud-based, platform-as-a-service (PaaS), is looking to attract developers to its community by rolling out a new, low-cost paid developer plan to its platform. The Portland company said Thursday that the new, low-cost plan costs only $50 per user, half the cost of its previous lowest paid plan. The company also said the adjusted pricing helps small development groups, independent developers, and developers at startups and at small and mid-sized businesses take advantage of its service. AppFog's PaaS makes it easier for companies to deploy and develop web-based apps in the cloud. In addition to the developer plan, the AppFog doubled the database storage capacity across all of its paid plans, and doubled limits on storage per application. AppFog is venture backed by Ignition, First Round Capital and Madrona.
