GigaPan Names New CEO

Portland-based Gigapan, the developer of hardware and software which enables very high resolution photography, said today that it has named Josh Friedman as its new President and CEO. Friedman was most recently COO and a board member at Rumblefish, and also co-founded coworking facility NedSpace, and Eleven Wireless. He also served at Tripwire and Intel. Friedman replaces interim CEO and founder Henry Hillman, Jr. Hillman remains as Chairman of the company.

Gigapan develops technology to create very high resolution, browseable photographs, which it calls gigapixel imaging. The firm's tools allow users to create interactive panoramas and other photo images which can be browsed and zoomed in great detail.
