Microsoft Sets Public Sector VP

Redmond-based Microsoft said this week that it has appointed a new head of its public sector efforts, covering sales and marketing to government, public safety and national security, education, and other public sector customers. Microsoft said it has added Laura K. Ipsen as Corporate Vice President of its Worldwide Public Sector organization. Ipsen was previously at Cisco Systems, and also has served at Hitachi Data Systems, Acer, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Ipsen also serves on the boards of Monsanto and the Gridwise Alliance.
