Amazon Adds Facebook Gift Cards

Seattle-based Amazon.com announced today that it has added support for sending gift cards through Facebook. According to Amazon, customers can now connect to Amazon.com through their Facebook account, and create personalized gift cards that can be delivered via a recipient's Facebook Wall. Amazon said the new program allows users to give up to $5,000 via Facebook, and allows the gift card to be scheduled for delivery up to a year in advance. The program is not the first time an Amazon gift card has been sold through a Facebook application--there are a number of third party, gift card applications available--but it is the first time Amazon has offered its cards directly on the social networking platform.
