Amazon Launches Streaming Video Subscriptions On Prime

Seattle-based Amazon.com is looking to add subscriptions to content from SHOWTIME, STARZ, and others, through a new program it calls the Streaming Partners Program. Amazon said the new program helps "over-the-top" streaming providers reach its tens of millions of Prime members. Amazon said it would help those partners by driving subscriptions, managing customer service and billing, dealing with credit card expiration, and more, and also offer up free trials to its users to encourage signup to those programs. The company is offering up SHOWTIME and STARZ for $8.99 a month each.
