Amazon Opens Fulfillment Center In Minnesota

Seattle-based Amazon.com is continuing to build out its extensive network of fulfillment centers--where workers pack and ship products for delivery to customers--this time, with a new fulfillment center in Minnesota. Amazon said it is opening up a nearly 1 million-square-foot fulfillment center in Shakopee, Minnesota, where it says it expects to hire 1,000 for full time jobs. Amazon said the new center's employees will pick, pack and ship small items to customers such as books, electronics and consumer goods--although the center will also feature robots, developed by Amazon Robotics, which will also be helping to fulfill orders for customers.
