Amazon Studios Approves Five Series

Amazon.com said this morning that it has approved five series for full production, as it continues to advance its efforts in Hollywood. Amazon Studios, the content production effort being run by Amazon.com to help bolster its Amazon Prime Instant Video services, said it has given the green light to five series, including comedies Alpha House and Betas, plus kids pilots Annebots, Creative Galaxy and Tumbleaf. The five were part of a batch of pilots recently released by Amazon.com to Prime Instant Video and LOVEfilm. Amazon used viewing patterns and feedback on those pilots for the selection of the five series, part of an effort by Amazon.com in Hollywood to become a content producer and distributor. Amazon is using those original videos as part of an effort to differentiate and attract viewers to Prime Instant Video.
