Amazon To Hire 5,000 At Home For Virtual Customer Service

Seattle-based Amazon said on Thursday that it is planning to create 5,000 new, part-time jobs in customer service, for its "Virtual Customer Service" program. Amazon said those jobs are aimed at helping provide employees with flexibility, while providing customer service support to Amazon customers. Amazon says it plans to hire around 30,000 part-time roles in the U.S. over the next year, on top of another 100,000 full-time jobs the company hopes to fill. Amazon said it is particularly targeting military spouses, college students, or parents who need more flexibility in their job situation with the Virtual Customer Service program.
