Amazon Web Services Adds Adobe Flash Server Support

Seattle-based Amazon Web Services, the web services arm of Amazon.com, and software firm Adobe Systems said late last night that the two have added support for Adobe's Flash Media Server 4 via Amazon's web services cloud. The two said that Adobe's software now runs on the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). The two firms said the software is aimed at mid sized publishers, social media developers, and others creating one-time events using Adobe's Flash Media Enterprise Server 4. Adobe's software is used for such things as video streaming, games, and video chat. The new software is available from Amazon.com, charged based on run time and data transfers; Adobe lists the cost of using its software starting at $0.44 per hour for Amazon Large instances, and $0.10 per gigabyte of data transfer.
