Ambric Acquired by California-based Chip Maker

Beaverton, Ore.-based Ambric has officially been acquired by fabless semiconductor manufacturer Nethra Imaging of Santa Clara, Calif., Nethra announced Monday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Ambric produces software-programmable integrated circuits that are used in the media-processing and medical-imaging sectors. Ramesh Singh, Nethra's president and chief executive officer, said he expects Ambric's personnel and operations to be completely integrated with Nethra's later this month. Ambric was venture backed by ComVentures, Northwest Technology Ventures, OVP Venture Partners, and others.
