Bezos Expedition Backs Plenty In $200M Round For Indoor Agriculture

Bezos Expeditions, the venture capital investment fund of Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos, has made an investment in Plenty. According to Plenty, it raised $200M in a Series B funding round on Wednesday. The funding was led by the SoftBank Vision Fund, and also included affiliates of Louis M. Bacon, the founder of Moore Capital Management, LP, Eric Schmidt's Innovation Endeavors, Bezos Expeditions, DCM, Data Collective and Finistere. Plenty is a developer of indoor farming technology, which uses LED lighting, micro-sensors, and big data to grow produce on a large scale.
