Clearwire Extends Into New York, LA, San Francisco

Kirkland-based Clearwire is in a major expansion of its 4G, WiMAX network today, saying is opening up coverage across three major markets. According to Clearwire, it is opening up its network in New York on November 1st, along with Sprint and Time Warner Cable; is adding San Francisco in late December along with Sprint and Comcast; and launching in Los Angeles with Sprint on December 1st. Clearwire will offer its WiMAX wireless service along with the others, each under their separate brands. Clearwire has not yet provided exact coverage areas or the extent of the services in each of those markets.
