Clearwire Moves Customer Service Employees To TeleTech

Kirkland-based Clearwire has outsourced a chunk of its customer service to TeleTech Holdings, the firm said Thursday, as it continues to reduce the number of employees at the company. According to a filing from Clearwire, it will shift approximately 700 of its employees in Las Vegas, Nevada and Milton, Florida to TeleTech, a provider of customer service outsourcing. Clearwire said it will retain approximately 180 personnel between the two locations. TeleTech will handle day-to-day customer care services for Clearwire. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The move is the second, big employee shift at the firm in the last month; the company announced on May 18th that it would move another, 700 employees to Ericsson, which is now managing the firm's network management.
