DreamBox Learning Expands To K-5

Bellevue-based DreamBox Learning, the developer of educational software headed by Jessie Woolley-Wilson, said today that it has launched a major expansion of its DreamBox Learning Math software. The firm said it now has expanded the software to serve K-5 students, beyond its earlier, K-3 mathematics learning curricula. DreamBox Learning develops computer aided educational software to help students learn various math skills, adapting those lessons to a student's pace of learning. As part of its effort to gain adoption for the expansion, DreamBox also said it will provide three classroom licenses to every school in the United States to allow schools to try out the program; the firm said site licenses for the software cost $7,000 per year. DreamBox is venture backed by Charter School Growth Fund, the fund run by Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, as well as others; the firm took an $11M funding round in December specifically for expanding its curriculum and coverage.
