Earth Class Mail Looks To New Zealand For Advisor

Seattle-based Earth Class Mail, which is developing a service to digitize and deliver postal mail to email inboxes, has tapped a former New Zealand post office official as an advisor. Earth Class Mail said Monday that it has appointed Elmar Toime to its board of advisors. Toime was CEO of New Zealand Post from 1993 to 2003, and also served as Executive Deputy Chairman and chairman of Royal Mail Group PLC's management baord. Earth Class Mail said that Toime is currently running his own consultancy, which he established after leaving Royal Mail Group in 2004. Earth Class Mail operates a service which allows individuals, small businesses, enterprises, and others deliver their mail for scanning and delivery via the Internet; the firm recently inked a deal with the Swiss Post to market the service under that country's brand in Switzerland and elsewhere.
