ECOtality Plans EV Charging Stations For Western Oregon

San Francisco-based ECOtality, a developer of EV charging stations, said today that it is planning to deploy its Blink electric vehicle charging stations in Portland, Salem, Corvallis and Eugene. According to ECOtality, it is planning to install more than 1,100 publicly available chargers throughout the region, as part of its buildout of electric charging stations. The Oregon buildout is part of The EV Project, which has been promoting development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure nationwide; ECOtality is the project manager for that project, which is funded by $230M in investments plus grants from the U.S. Department of Energy. ECOtality said its local Oregon Advisory team includes the Building Codes Division; City of Corvallis; City of Eugene; City of Gresham; City of Salem; Eugene Water & Electric Board; Oregon Department of Transportation; Oregon Business Development Department; Oregon Department of Energy; Oregon Transportation Research and Education Consortium; Pacific Power; Portland Development Commission; Portland General Electric; Salem Electric; and the University of Oregon.
