Epson, Microsoft Cross License Patents

Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft and Seiko Epson Corp. said this afternoon that the two companies will cross-license the firm's patent portfolios. Terms were not disclosed. The patents cover both consumer and business electronic products. The firms said that the patent deal was to extend the firms' protection of its intellectual properties against counterfeiting problems.
