Goodbye Hotmail, Hello Outlook.com

Goodbye, Hotmail, and welcome to Outlook.com. Microsoft said today that it has officially launched Outlook.com, the replacement for its venerable Hotmail free email service, and now has over 60 million users using the new online email service. Microsoft launched Outlook.com last August, saying that it would be replacing its old Hotmail brand with a new, modern email service. Now, MIcrosoft said that starting today, all Hotmail users will be upgraded to Outlook.com, although they will get to keep their old hotmail addresses. The switch means Hotmail users will all now access their email through Outlook.com's new user interface, which also boasts features like email prioritization, connections to social networks, and a connection to Microsoft SkyDrive, a file sharing service.
