Zayo Expands Dark Fiber Network In Oregon

Fiber bandwidth provider Zayo Group said on Wednesday that it is expanding its network in Oregon, and is planning a new, long haul dark fiber network between Portland and Umatilla. Zayo said the expansion will add more than 250 route miles along the Hood River corridor. Umatilla is a major data center location, including the home of one of Amazon's data centers. Zayo did not say what customers it expects to use the dark fiber route, nor how much it is investing in the network buildout. Zayo is based in Colorado.
