Microsoft Patches Vulnerabilities Exposed In NSA Hacking Tools

Microsoft automatically patched a long list of vulnerabilities in Windows late Friday--resulting in millions of computers rebooting and updating themselves overnight--as a result of the release of the details of a cache of hacking tools created by the NSA by a hacker group called the ShadowBrokers. Those tools--used by the NSA to hack into Windows systems--allowed hackers to infect a large majority of Windows computers. Microsoft said that most of the vulnerabilities had already been patched, but released an update anyway on Friday patching the remaining vulnerabilities. The head of the CIA labeled Wikileaks--which released the data--as a "hostile intelligence service" as a result of those leaks.
