Kymeta Gets Nod From FCC On Antenna Terminals

Redmond-based Kymeta reported on Tuesday that it has received authorization from both the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and its counterpart in the United Kingdom, Ofcom, to distribute its flat panel satellite antenna terminals. According to Kymeta, it has recived blanket license to distribute its 11,000 KyWay terminals in the United States, along with a "unlimited installation" commercial from Ofcom in the UK. Kymeta's flat panel antennas are used connecting moving vehicles, fixed sites, and maritime vessels to satellites using electronic beam steering--a significant technology advance over existing, bulking, mechanically aimed satellite antennas. Kymeta is led by CEO Nathan Kundtz.
