Boeing Acquires Aurora Flight Sciences

Boeing is acquiring Aurora Flight Sciences, a company developing autonomous aerospace vehicles, in a move towards a future of robotic aircraft, Boeing said this morning. Boeing said that Aurora is a specialist in autonomous systems technologies to enable advanced robotic aircraft for future aerospace applications and vehicles. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Boeing said it plans to use the technology from Aurora to advance autonomous aircraft for both commercial and military markets. Aurora is based in Manassas, Virginia.
