AWS Signs General Electric

Amazon Web Services, the cloud-based services arm of Amazon.com, said last week that General Electric has signed on to its services in a major way, with GE selecting AWS as its preferred cloud provider. Amazon said that GE had begun migrating enterprise applications to its service in 2014, and now has more than 2,000 applications running on AWS. The two said that many of GE's businesses, including GE Power, GE Aviation, GE Healthcare, GE Transportation, and GE Digital, are running on Amazon Web Services. Amazon did not say how much the relationship is worth to the company, monetarily.
