Isilon Hires New Vice President of Marketing

Isilon Systems, a Seattle-based manufacturer of clustered data storage devices, reported today that Ram Appalaraju has joined the company as vice president of marketing. In this role, Isilon explained, Appalaraju will direct its marketing and business development initiatives. He will report directly to Sujal Patel, the company's chief executive. Most recently, Appalaraju was vice president of technology and product marketing for Azul Systems, a producer of enterprise server appliances. Before that, Isilon noted, he held many senior management positions—including director and vice president—with IT heavyweight Hewlett-Packard. He has also served in management roles with Digital Equipment Corp. and General Electric, Isilon added.
