Jeff Bezos' Newest Obsession: Apollo 11 Rocket Engines

Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos has a new, space-related obsession: recovering the rocket engines for the Apollo 11. According to Bezos, in a post on Bezos Expeditions, his investment company, he is now looking to recover the F-1 rocket engines which were used to send Apollo 11 into space. Bezos said that a team has found the Apollo 11 engines laying 14,000 feet below the surface of the ocean, and is now making plans to attempt to raise one or more of them from the ocean floor. Bezos did not say how much he is spending on the effort, but did say that, if successful, he's like to see one make it to the Smithsonian--and if he's able to pull up more than one, for NASA to donate one to the Museum of Flight here in Seattle.
