Jive Acquires Proximal Labs

Jive Software, the developer of social networking software which started in Portland, said today that it has acquired Proximal Labs, a developer of data mining and intelligence software used to improve online communities. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Jive, which is now headquartered in Palo Alto, California, is venture backed by Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins. The firm had started in Portland, but moved its headquarters to Silicon Valley last year after landing a big venture funding round.
