Kepler Communications Finds $5M For Satellite Startup
Toronto-based Kepler Communications, a developer of microsatellite technology aimed at helping to power the connection of Internet-of-Things devices via satellite links, said today that it has raised $5M in a seed funding round. The startup--a graduate of Techstars Seattle--said the funding was led by IA Ventures, and also included Liquid 2 Ventures (Joe Montana), Techstars, Globalive Capital, BDC, and angels. Kepler is developing a network of CubeSats, small satellites to relay real time messages for Internet-of-Things network devices. Those CubeSats are much cheaper to launch into space than traditional satellites. Kepler was part of this year's class of Techstars Seattle startups. More information »
