Kymeta Gains $50M For Satellite Antennas

Redmond-based satellite antenna technology developer Kymeta has raised a big, $50M funding round this morning, to help accelerate the company's growth. Kymeta said the $50M, Series C funding came from Bill Gates, Lux Capital and Liberty Global, along with new investors Osage University Partners and The Kresge Foundation. Kymeta is developing new materials being applied to satellite communications, which is aimed at high-speed communication services to businesses, consumers, governments and NGOs. The company was spun out of patent storehouse Intellectual Ventures. More information »
