Kymeta, Intelsat Link On New Satellite Service

Redmond-based satellite antenna technology developer Kymeta and satellite operator Intelsat said this week that they two are teaming together to create a new, satellite services called KALO. According to the two, its new service will target customers and sectors that are currently unreached or underserved by terrestrial networks, and offer up pay-for-what-you-use pricing for data connectivity. The two said the service uses Kymeta's mTennau7 antenna subsystem modules (ASMs) to allow users to directly connect to Intelsat's satellite network. The service is expected to roll out in Q3. Pricing on the new data connectivity service was not announced.
