LightScribe Ships Color Background CDs

Corvallis, Oregon-based LightScribe said today that it is shipping new, color background CDs for its CD labels. The new CDs provide red, orange, yellow, blue and green background CDs, and will be available through LaCie, Philips, PRIMEON, and Verbatim. The firm said that the new color background CDs use coating technology similar to gold-background compact disks, and are being manufactured by CMC Magnetics and Moser Baer India. LightScribe is a provider of CD and DVD labeling systems, and is a unit of HP.
