Madrona Names Mike Fridgen To Lead Startup Studio

Seattle-based venture investor Madrona Venture Group said Thursday that it has named longtime Seattle startup veteran Mike Fridgen to head up its Madrona Venture Labs startup studio. Fridgen was the founder of Farecast and Decide, and also had headed up eBay's 400-person Seattle office, after eBay acquired Decide in 2013. Madrona said that so far, it has created and spun out two companies out of its startup studio, which was set up last year. Those companies include Spare5, and a stealth mode company which Madrona said it has already provided seed funding to.
