Madrona Venture Group Awards LabintheWild With Annual Prize

Seattle-based venture investor Madrona Venture Group has named the winner of its annual "Madrona Prize", giving a team at UW developing a large-scale, crowdsourcing platform for behaviorial studies with the top prize. Madrona said the Labinthewild platform was developed by a team at the University of Washington assistant professor Katharina Reincke the top prize for creating a community that is being used to increase the understanding of cultural differences. The annual prize is awarded every year to a team from the University of Washington Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, as a part of the school's Allen School Industrial Affiliates day. Madrona said that, over its lifetime, it has funded 17 companies out of UW.
