Mentor Ties With Freescale On Automotive Chips

Wilsonville, Oregon-based Mentor Graphics, the developer of electronic design automation (EDA) tools, reports today that it has linked with Freescale Semiconductor on an automotive chip effort. Mentor said it will provide its embedded Linux In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) platform to Freescale, for Frescale's i.MX6 series of multicore ARM processors. The effort will go to speed development of automotive systems based on the Freescale processors. Financial details of the arrangements between the firm has not been announced.
