Microsoft Buys Gears of War Franchise

Microsoft said late Monday that it has purchased the Gears of War franchise from EPIC Games. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Microsoft said that Vancouver, B.C.-based Blask Tusk Studios will take over development of the franchise. Gears of War was first released on Microsoft's Xbox in 2006.
