Microsoft Pits Students Against Social Challenges

Microsoft said today that it has launched its eighth annual U.S. Imagine Cup competition, which pits students 16 and over against a number of "challenging social issues". According to Microsoft, it will award $36,000 in prize money and a trip to Poland to the winning team which uses technology, innovation, and creativity to help solve real-world problems. The competition--geared towards computer science students--spurred a number of entries last year focused on improving medical care, business intelligence, education, and the environment.
