MSNBC.com Acquires Newsvine

MSBNC Interactive News LLC said Sunday that it has acquired Seattle-based NewsVine, an online social media and news site. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to MSNBC, Newsvine's employees will continue to be located in Seattle, and CEO Mike Davidson will continue to run the operation. Newsvine, which was backed by Second Avenue, provided online news and blog aggregation services. The site will continue as a independent brand.
