Omneon Acquired By Harmonic

Silicon valley-based Omneon, a developer of media server and video products which has a portion of its research and development operations in Beaverton, Oregon, has been acquired, according to acquiring firm Harmonic Inc. Thursday. Harmonic said the deal was worth $274M in cash and stock. Omneon has around 280 employees, with research and development split between Beaverton and Sunnyvale, California. No details on how the acquisition will affect Omneon's Oregon operations was announced.
